Welcome to the National Kinship Care Website for Scotland

We are delighted to announce the launch of the new National Kinship Care Website for Scotland, the first site of its kind. This site aims to complement Mentor’s National Kinship Care Resource Guide by providing kinship families with information and advice as well as access to training, policy updates, local and national support and all the latest news and events across Scotland.

In order to keep up to date with changes on the site there is an option to subscribe, which will then provide notifications by email if there are new publications or changes on the site. Mentor is keen to hear your views on the site and we ask that if you wish to share information, resources or make suggestions on potential content, then please contact us.

There will also be a professional section that will enable the sharing of practice and networking between local authorities; this shall go live in the next couple of weeks.

This is a fantastic site, it provides kinship carers with a central point to discover what is available for them, be it a support group or a service as well as keeping up to date with the ever changing and confusing policies that affect us. (Susan, kinship carer)

If you have any requests about content in the guide, wish for further information or want a hard copy of the Kinship Care Guide then do not hesitate to contact us on 0131 334 8512, or through the website’s contact page. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy looking around the website!

This website is part-funded by the Scottish Government & Mentor UK.
