The Scottish Government has brought together a group of experts to review foster, kinship and adoption allowances and in doing so, to consider what the ‘core allowance’ that looked after children and young people in foster and kinship care could include.
As part of this review, the Scottish Government is using an online survey to gather the views of carers, local authorities and providers on the principles of a core allowance. This is an important opportunity for kinship carers (and young people with experience of kinship care) to have their say about what is required to provide the best care for looked after children.
The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete and can be found at the following link: https://response.questback.com/scottishgovernment/surveyofcareallowances. The survey was launched on Monday 23rd April 2018 and will be available for 4 weeks.
The results will be used only for the purposes of providing evidence to the review group to help develop policy recommendations, and responses are strictly confidential. If you have any questions about the survey please contact Tara Clark (firstname.lastname@example.org).
