  • Gain a legal overview of Kinship care in Scotland.
  • Consider the legal duties of local authorities to looked after children in formal Kinship care.
  • Consider the various routes and options for achieving legal permanence in Kinship care and reasons for pursuing a KCO instead of the child remaining on a CSO or adoption or a PO
  • Focus on the children’s hearing system and be provided with an insight into Kinship carers’ rights within these hearings as well as considering messages from courts.
