Barnardo’s Axis Service works with young people who have problematic substance use. They also offer a service for young people where there is a concern that they are at risk of developing problematic substance misuse, called the Early Doors Service.

Cluaran (Barnardo's)

Barnardo’s Cluaran Service works with young people who are at risk of becoming looked after, or already looked after but at risk of being placed in a residential setting. They support young people and their families so that, wherever safe and appropriate, young people can remain in their families, schools and communities.

Connect (Falkirk Council)

Connect Service is Falkirk Council’s specialist Youth Justice Team who work with young people between 12-18 years of age who are assessed as being at high risk of offending. The service provides one-to-one support, access to other services and advice and support with a particular focus on reducing offending behaviour.

Early Years Outreach (Aberlour)

Aberlour Early Years Outreach Service is based in the Falkirk Council area and supports families with young children. The service works on an outreach basis in local nurseries, community and health centres, playgroups, toddler groups and in family homes. Prevention work is one of the service’s key principles, along with a genuine understanding that parenting can be difficult for many due to a variety of reasons.

Family Mediation Central Scotland (Relationships Scotland)

Relationships Scotland supports individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties. Their office in Stirling offers a range of services, including family mediation and supervised contact, to families throughout central Scotland.

Family Support & Supported Childcare Falkirk (OPFS)

OPFS Family Support offers one-to-one and group support to single parents and carers in the Upper Braes area of Falkirk. Family support workers offer advice and support on a wide range of issues, and can also support children who may be experiencing difficulties in their lives. Their Supported Childcare service also offers 2-2.5 hour sessions for children aged 2-3 years who may be experiencing issues around their development or where there may be difficulties within the family home.

Forth Valley Family Support Service (Scottish Families)

Scottish Families are operating a Family Support Service across the Forth Valley and will provide information and advice, one to one support, peer support through the facilitation of family support groups and advocacy to individuals, family members and friends affected by someone else’s substance misuse. Although they are only able to support adult family members (18 years and over) they will be able to direct you to other age appropriate services if applicable.

Home-Start Falkirk West

Home-Start centres provide a range of support to families with at least one child under five years old. Each centre has trained volunteers who support families who may be struggling with isolation, physical health, bereavement or a range of other issues.

Intensive Family Support (Falkirk Council)

Falkirk Council Social Work team provide services for Intensive Family Support. This includes helping families in crisis who have children/young people aged between 8 and 18 years and children who are at a risk of becoming ‘looked after away from home’.

Kinship Care Team (Falkirk Council)

Falkirk Council aims to ensure that any kinship carer can access the support they need. They run a monthly support group for all carers, with advice, support and training available on the full range of issues. The kinship care service maintains close links with other council and voluntary services, helping kinship families to access the support they need. When the child is looked after, an allocated social worker will conduct an assessment of need, develop a care plan and arrange support according to the family’s support needs.

Langlees Family Support Centre (Aberlour)

Aberlour’s Langlees Family Support Centre provides a wide range of services to support young children (aged between 0 and 12 years old) and their families in the local community. Support includes early learning and childcare sessions, parenting support work, art therapy and infant massage.

The Spark Counselling Falkirk

The Spark is a leading provider of couples counselling, marriage counselling, individual counselling and family counselling in Scotland. They have centres in Trinity Church, Falkirk, and at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Camelon, which serve Falkirk and Stirlingshire. They offer a range of face-to-face, online and telephone appointments for couples counselling, marriage counselling, relationship counselling and individual counselling.
