Kinship Care Week aims to increase understanding and recognition of the role of kinship carers and the challenges they often face, but importantly, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate kinship carers for the incredible role they play in raising children.
The week is co-ordinated by Kinship Care Advisory Service Scotland (KCASS) working in partnership with other Kinship Care organisations. The activities for the week are funded by the Scottish Government.

An Introduction to Mindfulness
Monday 14th March, 10am – 11am – you can register for this event here
We start off the week by welcoming Raymy Boyle himself a Kinship Carer who will deliver a taster Mindfulness session.
This free webinar is aimed at Kinship Carers at any stage in their journey.
Having Difficult Conversations
Tuesday 15th March, 10am – 11.30am – you can register for this event here
We welcome along the Scottish Council for Conflict resolution to deliver this newly developed training as part of Kinship Care week.
Calming Techniques for Carers, Children and Young People
Tuesday 15th March, 12.30pm – 2.00pm – you can register for this event here
We are delighted to welcome back our colleagues from Children’s Health Scotland Anne and Sarah who will deliver this session.
Promoting Positive Relationships in Kinship Care

Highland Wildlife Park

Get all the family involved in Kinship Care Week and host your own “Bake off”. We have a cake/cupcake recipe and some decorating suggestions here.
