Break the Barriers Campaign Up to half of children in kinship care or adoptive families struggle to attend school regularly. This AUK report explores the reasons for absence and why the need for better support and understanding is critical. It is part of a wider campaign to influence government policies, educate and support teachers, and empower kinship and adoptive families, and their children and young people, to advocate for their right to be in school and in the classroom. In the latest phase of the campaign, we’re calling for all teachers to be educated on the impact of trauma, FASD and care experience. When we equip teachers, we can break the barriers to learning and transform lives.
