Barnardo’s Axis is a service for young people aged 16-18 living within Lanarkshire who are affected by their own, or someone else’s substance misuse and other related issues. The service offers a broad range of activities and interventions.

Blameless

Blameless provides fun times and ultimately happy memories for children who have been directly or indirectly affected by addiction or alcoholism. They run a range of community activities – get in touch for up-to-date details of current activities.

Family Mediation South Lanarkshire (Relationships Scotland)

Relationships Scotland supports individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties. Their office in Hamilton offers a range of counselling and mediation services to families across South Lanarkshire.

intandem

intandem is a mentoring programme for children and young people in Kinship Care. It supports young people aged 8 to 14 years, and often carries on beyond age 14. 

Mentors can make a big difference to a young person, building their confidence, helping them to try new things and set goals. By meeting regularly (often weekly), they build a positive relationship and have lots of fun together.

intandem is managed by Inspiring Scotland and delivered by 11 charity partners in 19 local authorities.

Kooth

Kooth.com is a free online counselling, advice and support service for young people aged between 10 and 16 years available in Glasgow and some other areas in Scotland.

It provides a safe secure means of accessing support with a specialist team of qualified counsellors and offers self-help tools and community spaces. The aim of Kooth is to support better emotional and mental health and wellbeing of young people and support is tailored to the individual young persons needs and situation.

The qualified counsellors are online 365 days a year. Monday to Friday, from 12 noon – 10pm and between 6pm- 10pm on weekends.

Kooth has no waiting list or referral process. Children and young people can access support for any issue they may be experiencing.

Machan Trust

The Machan Trust works with children and young people aged 5-18 years in Larkhall and surrounding areas. They provide a wide range of children’s services and youth work, and currently operate over 40 groups a week in Larkhall, Netherburn, Stonehouse and Ashgill.

Nurture Scotland

Nurture Scotland specialise in supporting kinship carers in all aspects of nurturing the children in their care. They aim to support carers to maintain suitable, secure placements that enable children and young people to achieve their full potential. They provide a range of services including a 24-hour information and advice service, one-to-one and emotional support, support in attending meetings, and training and workshops.

The Spark Counselling East Kilbride

The Spark is a leading provider of couples counselling, marriage counselling, individual counselling and family counselling in Scotland. In East Kilbride, they are based at the Village Centre, where they offer a range of face-to-face, online and telephone appointments for couples counselling, marriage counselling and relationship counselling.

Youth Involvement & Family Support Project (Barnardo's)

Barnardo’s Youth Involvement Project is an intervention service working with children and families affected by the impact of parental substance use. They support young people aged 8-15 who have emerging emotional and behavioural needs. And they support families to build on the emotional resilience of each child and young person and promote positive mental health and social inclusion.

Ypeople

Ypeople, formerly YMCA Glasgow, provides support to a range of vulnerable groups. Their Ypeer Mentoring project is a service for care experienced young people (aged 14-26) in Glasgow and surrounding areas, where peer mentors support young people leaving care or making another life transition.
