The Argyll and Bute Recovery Service supports individuals in their recovery from problematic alcohol or other substance misuse. They also provide advice and support to families and significant others. They have offices in Dunoon, Helensburgh, Islay, Lochgilphead and Oban.

Befrienders is a voluntary organisation which has been working with children and young people and their families in Argyll and Bute since 1989. They have a network of volunteer befrienders throughout Argyll and Bute, who encourage and support children and young people.

The Family Information Service is provided by Argyll and Bute’s Early Years service. It can provide you with details on early education and childcare provision in a variety of settings such as; nurseries, playgroups, out of school care provision, preschool education and childminders. It can also provide a range of advice including, local activities for children and families, local and national support services, parenting, what help is available in paying for childcare, and local events in your area.

Scottish Autism supports children and young people aged 5-19 in Argyll & Bute through individualised outreach support, a respite and short breaks service and an education service. Services take time to build up a deep understanding of each young person, taking into account their processing and thinking style in order to maximise their learning potential.
