Angus Carers Centre

Angus Carers Centre aims to improve the quality of life for all carers in Angus. They provide information and advice, peer support groups, and practical and emotional support. Their services include one-to-one support, counselling, reflexology, therapeutic massage, and training on issues such as stress management, mental health and wellbeing.

Family Mediation Tayside & Fife (Relationships Scotland)

Family Mediation Tayside and Fife is a member of Relationships Scotland. They support individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties. They have offices in Dundee and Glenrothes, from which they offer a range of services, including family mediation, counselling, family therapy and supervised contact, to families throughout Tayside and Fife.

Family Service Angus (Barnardo's)

Barnardo’s Family Service Angus support parents, carers and families in communities throughout Angus. They provide a wide range of services for vulnerable children and their families, including mental health and therapeutic support, counselling, and information and advice. Barnardo’s also deliver the Strengthening Families training programme for parents and carers, and run a family group conferencing service out of their office in Arbroath.

Home-Start Angus

Home-Start centres provide a range of support to families with at least one child under five years old. Each centre has trained volunteers who support families who may be struggling with isolation, physical health, bereavement or a range of other issues.

Hopscotch (Barnardo's)

Barnardo’s Hopscotch service supports children aged 5-16 affected by substance misuse. Experienced staff and volunteer befrienders provide a variety of one-to-one, group work and befriending services to children and young people throughout Angus.

Nordoff Robbins Scotland

Nordoff Robbins use music therapy to help people with a range of conditions including learning disabilities, neurological disorders, life-limiting illness, brain injury, cerebral palsy, mental health issues, trauma, stroke and dementia.

Parent to Parent

Parent to Parent is a voluntary organisation which supports parents/carers of children with additional support needs, whether physical, learning, sensory or behavioural. It also supports parents/carers of children who are seriously or terminally ill or who have suffered a bereavement of a child. It provides advocacy for children and young people with additional needs. They support families that live in Angus, Dundee or Perth & Kinross.

Permanence Team (Angus Council)

The kinship social workers in the Permanence Team undertake some kinship assessments and also offer support and information for kinship carers.

Angus Council have a kinship support group which runs on the first Thursday of every month with some evening groups offered through the year. The Angus Council Kinship Facebook page provides updates on this and other relevant news.

Play On Wheels (Smart Play Network)

Play on Wheels (POW) is a mobile play service operating in Dundee, Angus and Fife. The team consists of four experienced play practitioners with two vans filled with scrap resources for children to explore and enjoy. POW works alongside children, families and practitioners in their own settings for around 8 to 12 weeks to create lasting change. The Speech Language Communication Company (SLCo)

SLCo has a range of information services that provide help and advice to parents and carers about speech, language and communication. Their staff cover Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross, Edinburgh and Lothians, Glasgow, Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Borders and Western Isles; they organise local support groups, workshops, one-to-one support, and can arrange a Speech Language Therapist guided support service.

Support for Families (Angus Council)

Angus Council offers support to children, young people and their families where there are concerns about the welfare of children or where parents need additional help to cope. They may be able to provide one-to-one work, family work or group work.

The WEB Project (CAIR Scotland)

The WEB Project (Angus) offers a drop in service, one-to-one support, and a variety of other services for 10-25 year olds. The ‘Streets Ahead’ service is for 14-25 year olds who are at risk or are experiencing problems with drugs or alcohol use.
