4Ward Steps (Children 1st)

4Ward Steps is a Family Support Service run by Children 1st designed to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children and families who are affected by substance misuse. Where appropriate the service will also target support at other family members, including, spouses, partners and other children within the household.

Ayrshire Kinship Care Service (Children 1st)

The Kinship Care Service offers a range of support provided by staff and trained volunteers and helps to empower families and increase their resilience and ability to care for and support their children. Interventions include befriending, advocacy, mediation, practical support, individual and group work, parenting support, financial inclusion advice, family group conferencing, and direct intensive therapeutic support working with loss, harm and trauma.

Ayrshire One-Stop Shop (National Autistic Society Scotland)

The Ayrshire One-Stop Shop offers a wide range of ‘all under one roof’ autism support and information services for people with autism, their families and professionals throughout Ayrshire. Their staff hold meetings, groups and activities in a variety of local community spaces.

Buttle UK

Buttle UK supports children and families in crisis. In Glasgow, in addition to provide grants for basic household necessities, Buttle also works in partnership with the Scottish Kinship Care Alliance to help establish support groups, which help kinship carers to negotiate better support from statutory agencies.

Family Mediation West of Scotland (Relationships Scotland)

Relationships Scotland supports individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties. They offer a range of services, including family mediation, counselling and supervised contact, to families throughout the West of Scotland.

Kinship Team (North Ayrshire Council)

North Ayrshire Council has a dedicated Kinship Team that supports and develops services for kinship carers and the children placed with them. The team offer emotional and practical support to kinship carers, through support groups, training opportunities, access to information and resources, and support in accessing other local services. Currently, there are three kinship support groups directly linked to North Ayrshire Council, which meet in Irvine, Kilbirnie and Stevenson.

Barnardo’s North Ayrshire Families Service provides a range of family support services and support for those affected by substance misuse. SNAP works with young people and aprents/carers and other professionals to manage challenging behaviour, mental health issues and substance misuse issues.

Place2Be

Place2Be works in primary and secondary schools, offering therapeutic and emotional support to children and families. They currently work in Edinburgh, Glasgow and North Ayrshire, in schools that are dealing with some of the most troubled children and young people in areas of significant deprivation. Place2Be only works in certain schools, but you find out on their website if they are working in your child’s school.

SHOUT

SHOUT is a kinship care support group in North Ayrshire. They aim to provide kinship carers with information and support, and can point them in the right direction for advice and other services. They meet once a month and also run a youth club for kinship children, and arrange family days out and other events.

SNAP (North Ayrshire Council)

SNAP®, which stands for STOP NOW AND PLAN, is an evidence-based, cognitive- behavioural model that helps troubled children and their parents learn how to manage their emotions and ‘keep problems small’. Experienced and highly trained staff work with each family to assess challenges and problems and develop an action plan. Children and families may participate in interventions that aim to prevent future anti-social behaviour and reduce the chances of conflict with family, peers and authority figures.

The Spark Counselling Irvine

The Spark is a leading provider of couples counselling, marriage counselling, individual counselling and family counselling in Scotland. In Irvine, they are based in the Woodlands Community Centre, where they offer a range of face-to-face, online and telephone appointments for couples counselling, marriage counselling and relationship counselling.

Stepping Stones for Families offers a childcare service, delivered in the family home or place of residence. They employ experienced childcare workers to deliver a tailored service to meet the needs of the individual family and ensure the highest standard of quality. This service is provided to families, agencies and businesses and covers all areas of Ayrshire.

Steps & Stages Childcare (Quarriers)

Quarriers Steps and Stages Service works in partnership with North and East Ayrshire local authorities. The service provides childcare at home and within a mobile crèche, seven days a week from 7am to 10.30pm. Care can cover getting children up and ready for school, taking children to activities, nursery or school, assisting children with disability, or accessing social activities within their own community.
