Barnardo’s Youth Involvement & Family Support Project

Barnardo’s Youth Involvement Project is an intervention service working with children and families affected by the impact of parental substance use. They support young people aged 8-15 who have emerging emotional and behavioural needs. And they support families to build on the emotional resilience of each child and young person and promote positive mental health and social inclusion.

Families First is an intensive service that works with children and their families. The team work alongside the young person, their family, social work locality teams and other agencies to help increase positive opportunities and improve real life outcomes for children, their parents and carers.

Family Mediation West of Scotland (Relationships Scotland)

Relationships Scotland supports individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties. They offer a range of services, including family mediation, counselling and supervised contact, to families throughout the West of Scotland.

Health & Wellness Hub

The Health and Wellness Hub aims to improve the quality of life for individuals, in particular those who face disadvantage. They provide a variety of weekly health improvement and wellbeing services for communities in North Lanarkshire. They provide services that are affordable, accessible and inclusive, and address health inequalities and social exclusion.

Kinship Care Team (North Lanarkshire Council)

North Lanarkshire Council offer social work support and a kinship care allowance to approved kinship carers . They also support kinship care ‘coffee catchups’ in Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Bellshill; they organise a range of training opportunities; and they run an annual fun day for kinship families. The social work team are well-connected with local agencies, such as Citizens Advice, Nurture Scotland, Motherwell Football Club Community Trust, and Reattach Parenting, and can help kinship carers access additional services through these partners.

Moira Anderson Foundation

The Moira Anderson Foundation, based in North Lanarkshire, provides a place of safety and support for children and adults who have been affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse. They provide counselling and therapeutic services as well as ongoing support by trained staff. They also offer a weekly drop-in service for clients to spend time in a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental environment.

Nurture Scotland

Nurture Scotland specialise in supporting kinship carers in all aspects of nurturing the children in their care. They aim to support carers to maintain suitable, secure placements that enable children and young people to achieve their full potential. TouchBase & Parent Enabler Project

Sense Scotland run several projects for families with disabled children and young people in Glasgow and the West of Scotland. TouchBase is a purpose built resource centre that helps school-aged children with communication support needs to develop their skills, take on new challenges and make friends. Ypeople
